High School Student Becomes Rich Entrepreneur

Seth Alley's reported California Property

Los Angeles, CA - Seth Alley was a 17 year old high school student when he started his first business doing graphic design work for local businesses on a Dell laptop computer he purchased himself.

Ever since, he's been go, go, GO - always thinking of ways to make more money.

It wasn't until 1 year later that he started making $30,000 a year creating logos and  graphics and becoming the Public Relations person for major companies. Now at 19, his business generates over 1 million dollars annually. He made his first million before graduating from high school in Callisburg, Texas.

While living in Callisburg, he became President of the Cooke County United Way Executive Council, where he volunteered many hours of service to local charities and events.

Alley recently moved into a multimillion dollar California estate. Reportedly in a Los Angeles suburb; However, Alley remains very modest, recently seen shopping at the .99 Cent Store. He has currently been looking at different area organizations to work with. Alley continues his successful business from his California home.

"I always knew this kid was going to chase after his dreams. He always came up with crazy ideas in class, that most would argue are impossible for a kid of that age to accomplish. And somehow he always did. So I wasn't shocked when I found out of his success at such an early age." His former middle school teacher explained.

Most recently, Alley has partnered with organizations such as Stop Bullying: Speak Up and Feeding America as the spokesperson working to help teens make better desicions and motivate them in education and financial literacy.

If a 19 year-old kid can make $30,000 a year on his laptop, anything is possible. Go after your dreams.

Gainesville (TX)  — Members of a local youth council are looking for some dedicated students to help fulfill the United Way’s mission in Cooke County.

Cooke County United Way Youth Council president Seth Alley of Callisburg High School and treasurer P.J. Lane of Gainesville High School are using social media to cultivate interest in the organization.

“Everybody checks Facebook,” Lane said. “We have a group for our high school. Different students and faculty can post sports events and recent fundraisers and stuff like that. I got on Facebook and posted information about the United Way Youth Council and asked if anyone was interested. I’ve gotten pretty good positive feedback on that.”

Alley and Lane are hoping to spread the word about the council’s upcoming Extravaganza set for 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the First State Bank Conference Center at 837 E. California St. in Gainesville.

Youth council advisor Kelly Fiore-Watson said she’s proud of her council officers and thinks other local teens will respond when the call to action comes from their peers.

“Seth and P.J. telling other kids about us is more impactful than anything we can do as adults,” she said.

Other council leaders are vice-president Danielle Hobbs, secretary Kylie Woodlock and member Madison Reed

Fiore-Watson said the youth council tackles problems that affect younger residents.

“The youth council focuses more on what youth has to deal with on a daily basis,” Fiore-Watson said. “Whether that be tutorials for learning, hunger, literacy programs or substance abuse for their age group. The youth council will work towards building that connection for them.”

Both Alley and Lane said they found out about the youth council through adult United Way supporters.

“I heard about the United Way Youth Council through my school counselor, Glenna Metzler,” Lane said. “I was involved in a lot of community service projects and stuff of that sort and she knew me and a few select other seniors would be interested in being involved with United Way Youth Council. She kind of just gave us more information and told us to come out and see what it was about and join. I was openly enthusiastic on doing more for the community.”

Alley said he’s been a proponent for civic projects for some time.

“I had a website where I featured different community organizations that helped with revitalization efforts in North Texas,” Alley said. “My career coach, Denise Brewer, actually first told me about it and I got really interested in it once I heard more about it. It’s just a continuation of what I was already doing.”

The council welcomes students with varied background and interests, Fiore-Watson said.

“Anybody who wants to can become what we call an associate member of the council,” she said. “All you have to do is meet the criteria which is attend six meetings and do two initiatives.”

Youth Council volunteers are planning to help with Mooving through the Mud with Landon — an event to raise money for hypothalamic hamartomas research.

Students in public and private schools can join the organization as can home schooled students.

“We would like representation from all of them,” Fiore-Watson said. “Regardless of who you are in school. Whether you’re labeled as a jock or whatever, maybe you haven’t found your niche, this could be your thing and you just have to come and try it out.”

New Face in Gainesville, Texas (Callisburg High School Student, Seth Alley)

David Meek, Staff Writer
(Saturday, February 11, 2012) Gainesville, Texas --  There's a new face in Gainesville, Texas and his name is Seth Alley.
After living in the DFW area for 10 years, Alley along with his family moved to Gainesville, Texas. A small North Texas community located in Cooke County, after Seth’s father, Darin Alley, was promoted to Sr. Director of Operations at Zodiac Weber Aerospace, LLC.
Alley, 18, was voted onto the Cooke County United Way board as a member of executive committee last January.

"It's been a nicer welcome than I ever anticipated," Alley said. "It's been really nice."

Not a self-proclaimed volunteer or community activist, Alley said he is just someone who cares about the community around him. With the amount of successes and influence he leads. He is the type of person most communities are looking to draw – young successful public figures who are invested in their communities.
Seth Alley is by far the youngest success in North Texas. He continues to run his successful public relation firm and manages his popular website, all while still attending public high school as a normal student. He commented, “Most teachers don’t even know about my career” and he says, “I prefer it that way.”
Even though he has accomplished more in his teens, than most adults have by the age of 50.  Seth is determined to further his education after graduating from high school by attending the University of North Texas in Denton, where he plans to major in Business Management and Public Relations.
“Even though I have made success for myself, I believe everyone should have a high school and college degree. I definitely support a good education and believe the harder you work, the more successful you will become.”
“I grew up in Russia, where I was later adopted... If it hadn’t been for my adoption, I don’t think I could be where I am today.”
When asked if he has the ambition to become an advocate for international adoption, he said, “It’s definitely something I am passionate about since its deep in my family roots.”
Once his term is finished, Alley said he still wants to stay involved with causes throughout town. He has visions for the future of Gainesville and a clear passion for the future of the community he now calls home.

Specifically, he said he has in interest in the effort to add public housing in Cooke County for underprivileged teens, that can be a safe haven from unpleasant living situations back home.

When asked why he has such an interest in volunteering, he said, “I have been blessed in my life with a good family and successful business. I would have never had this opportunity if I had stayed in Russia. I want to give back to the country that has allowed me to live out the American Dream, and help those who are less fortunate than me."
After his first meeting on February 9th since being elected, he left the meeting commenting, “Great plans are being discussed for Cooke County, and residents should look forward to some good change for our community.”
